Mercedes Pinto Armas (La Laguna, 12th October 1883 – Mexico City, 21st October 1976) was a writer and journalist who became well known not only for her books but also for her defense in Human Rights and divorce. She was deeply concerned with the similarity of men and woman. She wrote « Divorce as an hygienic measure », which provoked her exile to South America.
